Adaptive behaviors Adaptive behaviors are age-appropriate everyday living skills that enable children to learn, interact with others, and become more independent. Listening, sharing, following directions, and daily self-care (e.g., brushing teeth, washing hands, etc…) are all examples of adaptive behaviors.
