There’s always a lot to do at the end of the year, especially for parents who have a child with autism. Mostly, you’re busy planning and taking extra steps to ensure your child has a fun holiday season, free from stress and anxiety as much as possible.
There’s also planning for the new year, which often includes renewing or selecting a new health insurance plan through the Marketplace. Open enrollment for 2023 starts November 1 and continues through December 15.
Of all the things that can fill your days this time of year, there’s one that promises to have a positive and long-lasting impact on your child’s life – enrolling them in ABA therapy.
ABA Therapy is the Gold Standard in Autism Care
Whether you get health insurance coverage from the Marketplace or your employer, most plans cover ABA therapy services, including screening for autism at 18 and 24 months. This fact speaks to the necessity and effectiveness of ABA therapy for children with autism, especially when started as soon as two years old.
ABA therapy helps children in all areas of their development, from communication, language, and self-help skills, like potty training, to social, motor, and academic skills. Here at The Behavior Exchange, ABA therapy services are highly individualized for each child and include both one-on-one and group therapy environments.
Most children we have the honor to work with start in One-on-One Therapy, then graduate to B.E.E.S., our early start program similar to preschool. The ultimate goal is to help them develop confidence and independence, so they reach their full potential for a happier life.
Start the ABA Therapy Enrollment Process Now for 2024
ABA therapy promises a brighter and happier new year for your child and family. The enrollment process can take a few weeks. Once you receive a diagnosis from your primary care doctor, you’ll need to find the right ABA therapy provider who’ll assess the needs of your child before therapy actually starts.
To speed up your search for a qualified ABA therapy provider, go to BHCOE.org and search for accredited providers in your area. BHCOE (Behavioral Health Center of Excellence®) is the only accrediting body for center-based providers.
If you call DFW or the Boulder (CO) area home, our team would love the chance to make a difference in your child’s life and in the life of your whole family.
