Choose Your Child's Vocabulary Carefully
For children who learn at a slower pace or may not attain a full vocabulary, it’s better to teach global phrases that are useful in many settings over the long haul. For example, if you use the word “potty,” you’ll also need to teach “restroom” later. However, if you teach “restroom” from the beginning, other more critical skills may be taught with the time saved.
