Today's Word: Receptive Identification
Receptive Identification is the basic skill of listening to and understanding what someone is saying or asking. Children need receptive identification skills in order to follow instructions. For example, if you ask your child to touch their head, they may need to imitate you touching your head before they understand what you are asking and touch their head when asked without being prompted.
