This can cause strain on a family, especially if parents have to make a different meal for one child while the rest of the family eats a different meal. Through ABA therapy intervention, children can learn to expand their diet. Even if a family has accepted compromising their diet, it’s always possible to teach a child to eat and try new foods.
We have extensive experience helping children learn to go to the toilet without assistance, using our ABA therapy potty training programs. Once your child has mastered the self-help skill, you can save on expenses, such as diapers and pull-ups, and finally enjoy a cleaner, less disruptive environment. You’ll also have a wider selection of schools to choose from when the time comes, since most require students be potty trained.
As a parent, you can shape your child’s behavior—children should not be able to shape yours. Through ABA therapy focused on language and compliance skills, we help children learn how to behave appropriately. We also help parents learn how to change their child’s behavior by balancing the parent/child relationship.
We have ABA therapy programs that are designed to help children develop motor gross skills that involve movements of large muscles in the legs, arms, and torso. If your child cannot ride a bike, we can teach them using ABA therapy techniques. We can also help your child learn to interact on the playground, master basic ball play, and if they’re interested in a specific sport or activity, teach them how to play said sport/activity based on their abilities.
Our ABA therapy programs encourage children to participate and interact with many different types of activities and materials to nurture a love of trying new things and enjoying a variety of activities. Our experienced therapy staff can teach your child the basic concepts that are universal to materials and activities for their age group. We can also encourage them if they have special talents and interests to help them become a well-rounded individual.
We make independent living skills a priority for all of our clients. Dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting are incredibly important for a child to know, and we do our best to ensure that your child is self-sufficient.
