Messtival @ AT&T Discovery District, Dallas
Lots of music, magic, and messy fun for kiddos ages 1-15 await at the “most exciting family friendly festival” around. Messtival is a huge outdoor festival – plus three indoor arenas – that promise to transform downtown Dallas into a community-first wonderland with non-stop stage performances featuring amazing artists and local talented children from across DFW, interactive zones, immersive art experiences, hands-on activities, and other surprises. Plano Balloon Festival @ Oak Point Park
Enjoy the all the colors of the rainbow at the 46th annual Plano Balloon Festival, launching Thursday, September 18 at the Red Tail Pavilion at Oak Point Park. There will be entertainment on the main stage, special kids activities under a large tent, sky divers, an enormous variety of food to tempt your tastebuds, merchandise and handmade products for shoppers, and even tethered balloon rides. Be sure to bring your chairs and blankets and make an evening of it. September 18-21. Safety Saturdays @ Frisco Fire Safety Town
Don’t miss this free event from the Frisco Fire Department and help your kiddo understand the importance of safety and how to be safe. Families can tour the educational facility and safety house, explore a fire engine, and practice pedestrian safety while strolling through a miniature village. Jeep and bike rides will also be available for kiddos who reserve a time slot and meet the height requirements. Bicycles, kid-sized jeeps, and safety gear are provided. 39th Annual GrapeFest in Grapevine
Drink in all the family fun at this highly anticipated Texas wine experience in the heart of Grapevine. In addition to all things wine, families and kiddos can enjoy games and rides along the carnival midway and a KidZone with hours of activities, including arts and crafts, Build-a-Bear, Legoland, climbing walls, and more. You can also hop abroad Grapevine’s vintage train for a ride, stop by the live stage for music and entertainment, have a bite to eat, and tour an observation tower. Sensory Saturday @ Explorium Denton Children’s Museum
Give your kiddo the freedom and fun of exploring hands-on learning experiences, from slides and climbing to playful musical instruments and make & think arts and crafts activities. Every area at the Explorium is designed for kiddos 10 and under, plus there’s a special area just for infants and toddlers. Sensory Saturdays give children with sensory needs early access to the fun before the museum opens, so they can explore without the noise and disruption of crowds. Pumpkins After Hours: A Sensory Friendly Evening @ Dallas Aboretum
Be a part of the Aboretum’s first Fall Sensory Evening, a specially designed sensory-inclusive experience for kiddos with sensory sensitivities and their families. You’ll enjoy the smaller crowds, the quiet zones, and all the hands-on fall-themed activities, including pumpkin exploration, leaf rubbings, and nature crafts. Your family will also have exclusive access to the Aboretum’s beloved Pumpkin Village with over 100,000 pumpkins, gords, and squash – all in a calm, sensory-friendly environment.
