Since this is our first blog of the year, we thought it might be a great time to (re)introduce ourselves and make sure the families who are facing an autism diagnosis know they’re not alone. It may not feel like it now, but there is real hope for your child and family, and we’d love the opportunity to show you what your child can achieve through the gold standard in autism care – ABA therapy. Our fun, dedicated team of autism and ABA therapy experts have been helping families for more than 20 years. We can help you, too.
A brighter future starts with ABA therapy
ABA therapy (or Applied Behavior Analysis) is a widely researched and proven discipline for managing autism and outcomes for children. Developed in the 1960s, it has stood the test of time by proving to be highly effective in helping children learn and master important life skills – especially when therapy is started as yearly as two.
We offer ABA therapy in a variety of settings based on a child’s specific needs. They include:
- One-on-One Therapy – Most children start here, working one-on-one with an experienced therapist, to learn prerequisite communication, self-help, and social skills before starting work on more advanced goals.
- E.E.S. (Behavior Exchange Early Start) – Designed for preschoolers, B.E.E.S. is our early childhood enrichment and school readiness program. They learn important skills they need to start school, including developing socially appropriate behaviors for interacting with other children.
- Social Skills Group – Children with autism and other developmental delays often need help learning how to connect with schoolmates and build meaningful relationships. Social Skills Group enables them to learn in a fun, low-pressure environment that also works to build their self-confidence.
- Parent Training – Join other parents as you learn basic ABA therapy techniques you can use at home and in public with your child. Empowering you is our goal along with ensuring your child continues to learn and make progress outside of therapy.
- Summer Camp – When school is out, Summer Camp at The Behavior Exchange keeps your child engaged through special summer-themed programs that make it fun to continue learning during the summer months.
Our colorful hives make ABA therapy fun
We’ve set a new standard for center-based ABA therapy with the design of our four hives. Whether you’re visiting us in Plano, Frisco, and Prosper, Texas or Boulder, Colorado, you’re greeted by the smiling faces of our mascots Buddy Bee and Watson Bear to let you know how excited we are to welcome you to each therapy session.
You’ll see Buddy and Watson throughout our hives as well as creative areas for social interaction and play, individual therapy rooms with kid-sized furniture and toys used in therapy, cubby spaces for your child’s belongings, big windows for natural light, and special design features to explore and inspire.
We help you maximize your insurance benefits
ABA therapy is covered by most major health insurance providers. However, coverage can vary from plan to plan, making it difficult for parents to navigate and maximize their benefits. We’re in-network with all the major insurance providers and maintain relationships with them to ensure your child receives all the ABA therapy hours they medically need to reach their full potential.
Proud to be a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence®
Our high-quality services, support, and team have earned us the highest accreditation possible for a center-based ABA therapy provider. We were the first ABA therapy provider in all of North Texas to reach the highest accreditation possible and one of only a handful of providers in Colorado to reach the prestigious milestone.
When you partner with The Behavior Exchange, you can be sure your child is receiving the best care possible from experts committed to your family’s long-term success.
