What is Augmentative & Alternative Communication?
AAC refers to any method for communicating that doesn’t involve speaking. It can range from simple facial expressions and pointing at pictures to high-tech devices that talk for you. By giving children with autism an easier way to communicate and express themselves, AAC helps to reduce frustration and unwanted behaviors, and in doing so, aids the learning process.
